What are Webflow Interactions?
Webflow Interactions is the platform's built-in animation and motion design system. It lets designers build complex, scroll-triggered animations, hover effects, click-based reveals, loading sequences, and page transitions — entirely without writing JavaScript.
Interactions in Webflow work on a timeline model. You define what happens (an element moves, fades, scales, rotates), when it happens (on scroll, on hover, on click, on page load), and how it happens (easing, duration, delay). The result is exported as clean, performant JavaScript.
Types of Interactions
There are two primary types: Element-level triggers (hover states, click events, scroll-into-view animations tied to a specific element) and Page-level triggers (animations that fire when the page loads or when the user reaches a specific scroll position).
Scroll-triggered animations are especially popular — they create the cinematic, immersive web experiences seen on award-winning websites. With Webflow Interactions, you can animate elements based on exact scroll position, create multi-step sequences, and chain animations together.
Lottie animations and parallax effects can also be powered through the Interactions panel. At Appsrow, we use Webflow Interactions to build websites that feel alive — where every scroll and hover reinforces the brand story.
